Rule on Styling Wide-leg Pants

 

When it comes to pants, I am a believer that the bigger the better. Flare, boot cut, mom jeans, wide leg, culottes, count me in because when they’re styled well and worn with confidence, they can make any body shape look incredible. While there is no strict rule when it comes to styling loose pants, it is helpful to think about your preferred look before you style that pair of mom jeans.

 

For days when I want my legs to look longer and leaner, I pair my favorite pair of high waist flare pants with a crop top. The heels also give the illusion that my glutes have been getting more days at the gym than they actually have.

Whenever my abs are acting right and I want to show off my midriff, I wear a pair of low-rise mom jeans with either a crop top or a tube top. Another option is to pair a loose shirt(similar here) tied in the front with a pair of low-rise mom jeans or a pair of boot cut jeans. The tie in the front creates a dimension that makes your waist look smaller while the mom jeans hides the size of your hips. The tip here is to tie the loose top somewhere at the waist line. This is also a golden rule for those days when you’re trying to draw attention to your upper body.For a more urban chic look, I tuck one of my favorite t-shirts  into a pair of statement wide-leg pants, in the Tan France-style (aka French tuck). The golden rule when styling wide leg pants is to avoid looking like you’re swimming in hand-me-downs (even if they are hand-me-downs), so always keep the look clean, fun, and proportional.

 

As always, the most important tip is to add an extra dose of confidence and to own your look!
